Every now and then we get caught up with the everyday stress of life: work, bills, dysfunctional relationships. We often forget to stop and take stock of things. We get so preoccupied with what is happening in our little bubble that we start to think the world is coming to an end.
It helps to look outside ourselves and our little bubble once in a while. We start to see the world in a different perspective. We notice the bigger picture. This was what I realized one morning when, as I was making my way home from yet another grueling night at work, I looked out of the window of our building’s sky bridge and saw this tree. I have walked past this tree many times before and have only been vaguely aware of its existence until that morning. I saw the beautiful blossoms on its branches that reminded me that no matter what happened today, spring will come and life will continue.
Since that morning, I have reminded myself often to pause and look out the window. I encourage you to do the same. The view will surprise you if you stop long enough to see what is outside.
