Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays Sketch #30

Here’s the sketch for Frosted Design’s Sketch Along Tuesday # 30.

Here’s my take on the sketch:

I found this photo of my immediate and extended family when I was still very young. I vaguely remember going to church on Sunday with the whole family and it always felt so comforting and nurturing. That’s me next to my brother and as usual, NOT looking at the camera. I played around with the color, hue and saturation with PSE9 and I was sort of going for the Sepia tone but I haven’t quite got it right just yet.

PPs are from pink paislee and K and Co., ricrac is from My Mind’s eye, lace trim is from Simplicity, border punch is from Martha Stewart, Glimmer mist on the doily is from Tattered Angels, word stickers are from The Girls Paperie, and die cuts are from Fancy Pants.

It took me a few hours to finish this page despite it being so simple looking. I had this image of a rose bouquet that I fussy cut and I wanted to put it into the page but it just wont match the rest of the elements so I had to give up and use the die cuts. I used pop dots to elevate some of the smaller elements on the page. Today I plan to play around some more with PSE9 and try my hand at digital scrapbooking or try a hybrid layout with more digital elements. I might try the My Design Studio although it’s pretty limited with page sizes and won’t let you do your own sizes.

BTW special thanks to my big bro for helping me out with the blinkies and the widgets today.
